LEONI’s Textiles & Creative Business Unit makes and sells a large number of decorative and in some cases highly valuable products for the textile sector, handicrafts, floristry and the hobby market. The products of the Textiles segment range from gold-plated thread for precious embroideries through to valuable decorative fabrics and, in the Creative segment, from gleaming golden flat wire (lamé) through to bouillon wire.

Making finest metal wires and other wire products such as threads, bouillon wires and flat wire, known as “Lyonese wares”, has always been a LEONI domain. The history of our Company can be traced all the way back to 1569, the year in which a French Huguenot from Lyon – nomen est omen – began making these products in Nuremberg.

Today, LEONI makes these classic “Lyonese wares” at its Weissenburg plant while woven products, especially precious fabrics, braids and ribbons, are made at LEONI Felisi in Italy.
